We have moved and are running a new B&B in Sutherland.

About Your Host

We moved to Skye in 1985, at a time when many people were moving up from the south to seek a more peaceful, less driven lifestyle. My husband of that time worked as a sheep shearer and fencer as well as running the croft. We had three children and enjoyed the fact that they were able to have the kind of lifestyle we knew as children, roaming the fields and making dens, as well as becoming immersed in the Gaidhlig language and culture.

Skye has changed a lot in the intervening years, but still retains a sense of romance and freedom. Many find it to be a very spiritual place.

To make a living on Skye often requires flexibility and a willingness to turn one's hand to anything. Like many others I have pursued several different lines of work over the years including childminder, relief librarian and postwoman as well as my main work as a therapist and trainer. Now that the children have left home it seems to make sense to indulge my love of engaging with people from around the world and all walks of life by using my home to offer bed and breakfast accommodation.

As a seasoned traveller myself, both with and without children, I appreciate the value of warm hospitality and a relaxed but well organised environment, and that is what I hope I provide, as well as flexibilty and value for money!

I look forward to welcoming you.

Artistic, Scenic, and Wedding and Portrait Photography

Anyone who comes to the Scottish Highlands will agree that as well as inclement weather and the problem of midges there is an infinite wealth of natural beauty to be discovered here.

As have many people who live here I have developed a love of photography and its capacity to capture something of the myriad expressions of light and water, landscape and plants, rocks and wildlife.

I have recently started to develop my repertoire of people photography, both in portraits and occasions such as weddings and conferences. In this work as well I like to bring the same eye for the animating spirit which I have developed in my nature photography.

I offer a flexible, individually tailored photography service. For information about what I do you can contact me via the details on this website or via my photography website.
