We have moved and are running a new B&B in Sutherland.

Kinloch Forest

pictures below text ↓

In addition to the Dark Sky Discovery site, there are some lovely waymarked walks on good quality tracks. The area is being converted from commercial forestry to native tree species. To get to Kinloch Forest, drive through Breakish then head down the Sleat Road (A851) for about 3 miles. You will see a signposted entrance to the estate on your left. Drive carefully as there can be potholes on the mile-long track through the estate to the car park. The Dark Sky Discovery site is right next to the car park. There is also good dark sky viewing if you walk up into the forest for about a mile where it opens out with fine views. There will be some light pollution from Isleornsay and Mallaig, but probably not a lot.
